World Confederation of Jewish Community Centers to Launch Amitim, a Global Leadership Network
The World Confederation of Jewish Community Centers (WCJCC), together with its partner organizations, is launching “Amitim-Fellows – A Global Leadership Network” – a three year program designed to develop a group of worldwide Jewish leaders who will bring the idea of Jewish Peoplehood to their communities and beyond. The program will engage and train a select group from 30 JCCs worldwide – ten from North America, ten from Israel, four from Latin America, three from Europe and three from FSU – to build new and innovative global partnerships.
The program will begin with on line study and a week-long conference in Budapest in June 2014. It will continue locally and globally when JCCs will begin implementing joint projects while receiving mentoring and supervision from WCJCC. After maintaining on line study and peer learning the network will meet again in November 2015 at the 9th World Conference of JCCs in Israel. Finally, the projects will come to fruition in 2016.
Congratulating this initiative, Meacham Revivi, Amitim program co chair, said that it is the vision of WCJCC that Jews around the world will embrace Jewish Peoplehood concepts and that Jewish Community Centers will play a pivotal role in translating these concepts into action.
The program is co-sponsored together with UJA Federation of New York, the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Israel New York Connections office. For more information please contact Anna Michel, WCJCC Program Director at anna@wcjcc.org
